Emotion-based coping skills are helpful when you need to take care of your feelings, especially when circumstances are out of your control. Identify where you're at and then try some of these strategies to get started.
- Get ready for your day like you've got somewhere to go
- Schedule your day (block your day into segments that are digestible -beginning, middle & end - so you can know what to expect. Schedule your playtime, too!
- Read don't watch news from a select number of outlets
- If you're feeling weird, it's better to write it down. Try a brain dump before you sleep.
